Public Transport
Buses: Most of the urban buses are lowflat ( buses accessible by wheelchairs) but not on every route and may vary at different times of day. The official timetables do not indicate which buses are lowflat.
Railways: Information about the accessibility of the railway stations is available on the Internet www.welcome.lu (in French).

This office (located on platform 3 at Luxembourg railway station - open 24 hrs) assists passengers and provides information and help wherever possible. Although they have special equipment to facilitate your travel (eg ramps, etc), they require 24 hour advance notice of your journey so they can arrange things well in advance. Should you find yourself in Luxembourg railway station without having booked any help, you can use the yellow telephones all over the station to request help in getting about the station.
Luxembourg Airport (Findel)
A City bus No. 16 leaves regularly [at intervals of 15-20 minutes throughout the day] for the City Centre and Railway station from a platform some 50 paces away from the airport building. (and vice-versa of course). Journey time: ± 25 minutes. Cost: €1.50
At the present time (as at 20/10/06) Luxembourg airport does have any disabled facilities except for toilets for disabled passengers and an "Ambulift", which allows the wheelchair passengers to board the plane. The new Luxembourg airport which will be in service from the end of 2007, will be fully equipped with all necessary infrastructure.
Taxis/Embassy vehicle (specially adapted people carrier)
UKRep uses a taxi company CoLux when down in Luxembourg. They have regular vehicles only. There is a company in Brussels with specially adapted vehicles who can be hired to drive wheelchair users to Luxembourg. Please alert the UKRep contact point (see the home page) in advance if you will need help with transport in Luxembourg.
