About us
The United Kingdom Permanent Representation to the EU (UKRep) is one of the UK's busiest multilateral posts in the world. Led by Kim Darroch, the UK’s Permanent Representative to the EU, we represent the UK in negotiations that take place at the EU level, ensuring that Britain's interests are heard by other member states, the European Commission and members of the European Parliament.
Given the breadth of the EU’s day to day work, this means that we cover a vast range of government policies. Our teams are broadly structured around thematic issues, with cross cutting teams to support these and three ambassadorial level representatives at the head of our organisation.
There are also three teams within the wider UKREP organisation who are responsible for representing the specific interests of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland respectively. If you would like to find out more about our Representatives and our teams then take a look at our Who’s who section which also includes a quick glance organogram.
We also work closely with regional bodies, many of whom have offices in Brussels, to ensure that their regional interests are taken into account when we develop the UK’s negotiating position. You can find out more about how we work together in the section: Our partners in Brussels.
